Velocipede Torpedoes
To Download and Cut Out

Paper Print Version
Download this image of the bicycle torpedo and print it out (in color or b&w) so that the marker is 2" (51mm) between the grey lines (for use with 25mm figures).

Cut out the marker including the brown base color. Fold on the thin grey line and fold the brown tabs outward to form a base. Glue the sides together. Heavy application of water-based glue will warp the paper. Double-stick tape, spray glue, or glue stick is safer. Let dry, if necessary.

With a sharp hobby knife, cut close to the outside outline of the bicycle. Glue the base tabs to a base of cardboard or other flat material.

Clear Background Version
With a little more effort, you can eliminate the white background. Download this image of the bicycle torpedo and print it out (in color or b&w) so that the marker is 2" (51mm) between the grey lines (for use with 25mm figures). Take the paper print to a copy shop and have it laser-copied onto a piece of clear film. Use the stiffest film available.

Each print will make two torpedoes. Cut out the two torpedo markers separately, cutting off the brown ground pieces.

Make a base of cardboard or other material, cut a lengthwise slit in it, and glue the torpedo into the slit. If the clear film is not stiff enough to stand by itself, add a piece of thin grey-painted brass wire up the spoke and the front fork of the bicycle and glue it in place as a stiffener. For extra strength, bend the bottom 1/4" (6 mm) of the wire outward, and glue it to the base.

Multiple Copies
If you print several paper copies of the image and paste them up side by side on a single sheet of paper, you can get numerous torpedoes copied onto a single sheet of clear film.
